Siloa is re-opening for worship! Sunday, June 28th at 10:30AM Note the new worship time!
Due to COVID-19 we do recommend that if you are age 80+ you may want to continue to stay home. Those who are in their 60-70’s with compromised health may also want to consider remaining at home. We will continue to have our Facebook Live recording posted to Facebook and then sent to our email list.
What to Expect: The main entrance is the coat room door (West Door) We must all enter and exit at the same location. The exit will be the door with the mailboxes in it Face masks are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and social distancing will be encouraged You will be asked to use hand sanitizer as you enter and exit church You will be asked to confirm that you have not been exposed to COVID-19 and do not have symptoms Attendance will be taken to have contact info in case we have a confirmed case in the future There are no hymnals, Bibles or other papers and pens in the pews We will have the main doors open and ceiling fans on. However, we will not be opening the windows to avoid the breeze to blow across individuals possibly transferring the disease in an enclosed area. Communion will be brought to you by Pastor Mary in your pew Offering plate will be on the children’s activity bag stand rather than passing the plate As we exit we will attempt to maintain social distancing We will limit church use to avoid excessive cleaning. However, the bathrooms are completed and possibly the annex will have the carpet removed and hardwood floors refinished by our start date! So, if possible try not to touch surfaces unless necessary. (Thank you) Fellowship time will be held outdoors. You will need to: Bring your own chair Bring your own coffee and treats We will sit while using social distancing outside. It will be fun to catch up with each other!!! And we will have Pastor Mary with us for fellowship now since we are the late service this year.
We will resume in person worship on Sunday, June 28 at 10:30 am. Please note the new time!!! If you would feel more comfortable worshipping from home, we are making plans to continue the Facebook worship service until all feel comfortable worshipping in person. Watch here and on Facebook for additional information.
IF YOU HAVE ANY NEEDS OF PASTOR MARY, DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT HER. SHE ALSO IS THE CONTACT PERSON FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO MAY NEED ASSISTANCE WITH GETTING GROCERIES OR PICKING UP PRESCRIPTIONS.
Siloa is scheduled to assist at the Braham Area Food Shelf on Thursdays in July and December.
While we are worshipping from home, workers updated the bathrooms as part of the addition/remodeling project. When we return on June 28, we will have one handicapped bathroom and one regular bathroom. We will also see a concrete slab near the front of the handicap ramp to make it easier for indiviuals to come and worhsip with us. You will also see that the carpet has been removed from the fellowship hall and the original wood floor has been refinished. All of funds for these expenses were previously earmarked for this project.
Siloa is looking for a new organist/pianist. If you are interested or know of someone that might be interested in a part time or full time position, please have them call the church at 320-396-3927 or June Bengtson at 320-396-3237.
